James Rees, Court of Protection Expert

After starting as a Trainee Costs Draftsman in July 2012, James developed his Costs Draftsman skills in litigation costs recovery, before turning to Court of Protection.

Since then, James has rapidly developed his skills and applied his knowledge in dealing with high-estate valued and complex Court of Protection bills such as disputed and contentious general management and application bills, disputed statutory will applications, gifts applications, trustee applications and conveyancing affairs. Having worked with a large list of clients Nationwide, James has been recognised and trusted in achieving results above expectation. There have been occasions, where the assessments have encountered controversial reductions, which he has successfully challenged.

James joined A&M Bacon during March 2019 to continue his pragmatic and viable approach for achieving high recovery rates whilst implementing his particular attention to detail. During his career, he has been involved in various roles and responsibilities, including the sole management of Court of Protection billing and undertaking a supervisory role.

With nearly 7 years’ experience, James continues to ensure a clear perspective of how complex and important the developing world of costs is to clients and ensure their expectations are firmly met. James is also experienced in providing client in-house training and talks to ensure comprehensive advice is provided on a wide range of matters.

In James’ spare time he enjoys spending it with his family whilst also keeping active by playing football with his local team and regularly attending the gym.
